Hiram Motorcyclist Breaks Wrist in Collision with Drunk Driver

This personal injury action arose form a DUI collision between a 21-year old Acworth resident and a Hiram motorcyclist.  The accident occured on Highway 92 at its intersection with Mclain Circle.  The DUI driver was traveling south on Highway 92 when he suddenly and without warning came to a stop in the middle of the road.  The motorcyclist and his two buddies attempted to avoid the stopped truck, but were unsuccesful.  One of the motorscyclists had to jump off his bike before it slid under the back of the DUI driver's truck.  In his fall he suffered a fracture to the scaphoid bone of his right wrist.

Upon their arrival, police discovered that the DUI driver was high on marijuana.  He admitted to police that he had smoked pot a couple of times previously that day.  The officers also found additional marijuana on the driver's person.  He was arrested for DUI and for improper stopping.
